Don`t miss the new exhibition of TS1 Gallery opened on January 21st. The Fifties – Muted Consciousness presents an exciting overview of the visual history of the 1950s of Myanmar through a carefully selected show through the Pansodan Gallery Archives` collection. The exhibition curated by Aung Soe Min, Nathalie Johnston and Borbala Kalman presents a wide selection of media reflecting this particular period. The main accent is on art works – paintings and paperworks / illustrations for books, magazines, newspapers -, combined with a significant amount of vintage photographs and documents selected from that time. The exhibition has also the aim to emphasize the importance of archives – public or private – in terms of cultural heritage and future researches. TS1 plans to publish a catalogue extending the contextual background of the presented selection – stay tuned to find out the date of its publication! The exhibition i up until February 22nd!
